Prof. Dr. Alexander Strehl - Vita

Alexander StrehlAlexander Strehl studied computer science at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany. Subsequently, he received the M.Sc.Eng. and the Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from The University of Texas at Austin, USA. During his graduate studies he worked as a research assistant for the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft, as a management consultant for McKinsey & Company, as the director of business development for flatfox AG and as a researcher for Accenture Technology Labs.

Dr. Alexander Strehl joined McKinsey & Company's Munich office and served major clients a broad variety of industries throughout Europe with a focus on high-tech, automotive, and chemicals as a senior consultant and engagement manager. He was appointed to professor of information systems in the International Business School at the University of Aalen and is currently the dean of studies.

Prof. Dr. Alexander Strehl is the primary author of over a dozen refereed technical papers and several news articles, TV and radio broadcasts covered parts of his work. He is a member of AAAI, ACM, IEEE, Phi Kappa Phi, and Tau Beta Pi. His professional interests are business strategy and information technology. Prof. Dr. Alexander Strehl's areas of expertise are business software, enterprise resource planing, business intelligence, turnarounds, go-to-market strategies, personalization, artificial intelligence, cluster analysis, and large-scale data mining. In his free time, he enjoys piloting single-engine aircrafts, sailing, and leading scuba dives.
